Elegant Easter Styled Shoot | Canyonwood Ridge in Dripping Springs, Texas

Styled Shoot, Wedding

Sometimes (most times) I feel so grateful to be doing this wonderful job and living this life I’ve created, especially on days when I get to work with some of the most talented wedding vendors in central Texas. The amount of brain power, inspiration, and planning that goes into a styled shoot can be staggering, but when you’re working with the best it’s so so worth it and then some.

I worked with a power house wedding coordinator and stylist back in September at a knock out wedding that blew my socks off. Her name is Raquel of Wild Yonder Events & Designs and she is wonderful. This Easter Styled Shoot was our springtime love child and we’re both so in love with her. Both Raquel and I felt like spring has always been such a popular time of year to tie the knot and we wanted to push that theme a bit further.

We used beautiful chicken and duck eggs of varying pastel hues, swan planters, lavender, and soft purple florals to really make our theme a reality. Our beautiful models each wore a bridal gown of a different designer that complimented each other so well. While we were in the middle of the shoot everyone kept commenting that the pools of fabric at their feet seemed to form one dress. Irena wore a blush gown with a plunging neckline by Leanne Marshall from Blue Bridal Boutique of Austin while Claire wore a strapless, white gown with a beaded bodice by Hayley Paige from Second Summer Bride.

Katie of Kiss by Katie created such dreamy looks for both brides. The inspiration for Irena was her pink hair and pink dress. A long, messy fishtail braid seemed like the perfect accompaniment to Irena’s beaded veil. Katie used more rosy hues and soft purples to complete Irena’s look. Claire had a bold, jewel toned lip with a neutral face and soft tendrils of hair gracing her shoulders.

Raquel from Wild Yonder Design & Events put together natural and bountiful bouquets that looked as if they were haphazardly plucked from a spring garden. Within each bouquet were blush roses, purple straw flower, and purple ranunculus. Our moody and organic table donned simple flatware and gold silverware courtesy of Whim Hospitality. A cheese cloth was dyed lavender and used as a table runner while potted native Texas plants sat atop the lush table thanks to Natalie of Shop Ceremony. Dusty green foliage with antiqued heirloom swans were the cherry on top this dreamy table for two overlooking the Texas hill country.

Pink Avocado took our Easter/Spring theme and ran with it to create three appetizers using what else but eggs! For us they made arbol chili deviled eggs, Dutch pickled beets and eggs, and Scotch eggs. Who knew eggs were so beautiful to photograph…and to eat? We were head over heels in love with the bright, vibrant colors they provided.

Megan of Peach Paper + Design designed a feminine and dainty invitation suite and a menu for our three beautiful egg appetizers. Purple was prevalent and watercolor florals provided just the right amount of grace to go along with the delicate calligraphy.

Kate of Kate Winternitz Jewelry gave us a simple and delicate set of earrings and a matching necklace for Irena to wear. They blended with her look seamlessly.

Finally, the gorgeous wedding venue of Canyonwood Ridge in Dripping Springs, Texas brought everything together just the way we had envisioned. The cathedral of Canyonwood Ridge is a heavenly space with tall, peaked ceilings and dozens and dozens of windows to allow for every drop of light to pour in. There were so many moments where the brides looked as if they were at heaven’s gates because of their ethereal glow. At sunset we stepped outside the doors of Canyonwood Ridge to enjoy their breathaking hill country views. The light that evening cloacked our brides in so much warmth and beauty.
