Wedding

I had been anticipating Mandy and Wes’s wedding day for awhile. It was going to be my first wedding back since having a baby and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a few pre-wedding jitters since it’d been almost four months since the last time I photographed a couples’ “I Do’s.” Enter their wedding day, I was SO excited to get out the door and go document their big day in a creative and thoughtful way.

I had met Mandy, Wes, and Mandy’s parents in the fall leading up to their nuptials in March. We chatted over coffee about their plans and travel and I fell in love with all of them, I knew I’d be surrounded by lovely, caring people.

Mandy and Wes met during undergrad at Texas Christian University. Wes is from Kerrville while Mandy is from Pennsylvania. Their shared interests brought them together, they enjoy cooking, traveling, and all things beer! They love taking vacations where they visit local breweries, they even got engaged in Belgium, a beer mecca! I was super impressed to hear that they brew their own home beer in their NYC apartment, now that’s commitment. Their own special blend of hops was enjoyed by guests at their wedding and it was hit! I loved it too, obvs 🙂

Mandy and Wes’s wedding day style was so perfect! I always know I’m on the same page with a bride style-wise if she has a gold engagement ring and wedding band, Mandy has both 🙂 Her gown was Great Gatsby-esque and her hair was in an effortless updo. I adored Wes’s blue tux and bow tie!

The first dance was amidst twinkle lights draped with greenery beneath a white tent (swoon), they danced to “So this is love” from the Cinderella soundtrack and I died. I’ve never heard/seen a couple dance to that song and it was ever so beautiful! Mandy was graceful and together they were so joyful on the dance floor.

Oh, and how could I forget to mention THIS?!? It was Mandy’s birthday (what?!) and there was a beautiful rainbow confetti birthday cake to serve alongside the wedding cake. Mandy was my first ever Birthday Bride and I adored being able to sing Happy Birthday to her on her wedding day!
