Hannah and Johnson, oh wow, what a special wedding day this was for these two camp director river rats!! Hannah and Johnson met at Camp Capers, got engaged at Camp Capers and so they obviously got hitched at Camp Capers! It would be easy to assume that their plans of getting married at camp was Plan A all along but it was not. They were originally planning a more traditional, larger scale wedding at a totally different location. But throw in some Covid and a dash of “WHEN WILL THIS EVER END?!” and Plan A turned to Plan B turned to Plan C and these two ended up doing the most perfectly perfect thing EVER of saying “I Do” in the middle of the Guadalupe River!!! You read that right, Hannah and Johnson stood in the middle of the river while their friends and family sat in chairs, also in the middle of the river, and exchanged vows. It was my most unique ceremony spot to date and I was in love with how everything turned out.
My favorite part of the day was when Hannah and Johnson took the plunge in the river in their matching “Just Married” inner tubes while friends and family cheered them on. It was picture perfect. Their pup Juniper joined the fun moments later as she jumped enthusiastically into the river to give mom and dad river kisses and chew on rocks. After the refreshing swim in the river everyone enjoyed a picnic of Chuy’s take out, yummy wedding cake and cupcakes baked by Hannah’s sister Petra, speeches and dancing.
Dear Hannah and Johnson, I know this wasn’t exactly how you envisioned your wedding but I can’t imagine a wedding day more reflective of you two. I hope you enjoyed every last second of your Camp River Wedding!!
