I had beautiful Cheyanne contact me about a month before we took her bridal portraits, her and her fiance live in Austin but they were planning on getting married in the Dominican Republic. Before their destination wedding she wanted bridal portraits taken, woohoo, I LOVE taking bridal portraits…I always feel like I’m in on a big, important secret before the wedding day. Cheyanne booked the always gorgeous Laguna Gloria for her session, I was thrilled. Laguna Gloria is one of my all-time favorite places to photograph, it has a Great Gatsby feel about it and there are beautiful places indoors and outdoors to photograph in. I always discover a new place to take photos each and every time I’m there.
Cheyanne was a mega stunner in her gorgeous bridal gown by Maggie Sottero, it made me wish I was shooting her wedding the following week (her wedding photos were absolutely gorge btw). While chatting Cheyanne and I realized we both have a deep passion for international travel, I could have chatted with her for hours about the places we’ve been and where we want to go next.
A highlight of the session for me was when we were just about done and I was taking photos of Cheyanne by a really tall palm tree. There was a squirrel closeby that was with its baby, the baby ran in the opposite direction of its mother because of us approaching (oops) and the mama squirrel started squaking and making aggressive movements toward us. Cheyanne didn’t budge when the baby ran back towards us and started circling Cheyanne’s feet as she had her dress gathered high. I squealed and thought her ankles were about to get scratched up by a confused, baby squirrel. Cheyanne on the other hand was gleeful and exclaimed, “OMG, how cute!” Lover of travel and Mother Nature this girl was. It was fantastic!!
Congratulations Cheyanne and Juan, I love following along on your journey via Insta 😉 Best of luck in the future!! xoxo
