I absolutely adore shooting at the Ivory Oak, I love it even more when I have a gorgeous couple with impeccable taste. Erin and Jake first met up with me for their engagement session in the spring before their fall wedding day. I could tell from the very beginning that they would be a dream in front of my camera, so easy to smile and so trusting when I tried new ideas with them. Their wedding day was no different and I loved working with their sweet friends and family who helped make their big day extra special.
One of my favorite details about the Ivory Oak is the outdoor ceremony site beneath the grand oak tree, it’s majestic and lends a fairytale quality to each and every ceremony I capture there. I get chills thinking about the long processional with Erin and her Dad, Fools Rush in was playing and it made me want to cry. Everybody kept glancing from Erin to Jake and back again watching their emotions spread across their faces as their gaze met.
Also, can we talk about Erin’s dress? I am always a sucker for something a bit non-traditional in the dress department. The plunging neckline and back of her gown were a showstopper and nearly everybody gasped as they saw her for the first time.
Erin and Jake partied hard after emotional and heartfelt speeches from their family members. There was so much dancing and so much singing and I’ll never forget the mood when Lizzo’s Truth Hurts came on and the bridesmaids + the bride threw it down on the dance floor. It was all pretty epic and I’m so excited for this sweet couple and their future!
