Where do I begin with this lovely duo? Couples like Julie and Matt remind me why I love what I do, it’s all about the connections I’m able to make with my clients. Meeting people I never would have met otherwise and being able to spend one of the most important days of their lives with them. Julie and Matt met through their church, a staple in both of their lives of great importance. While photographing their winter engagement session they reminisced about all their church friends who would mention “their friend Matt” or “their friend Julie” to the both of them while they were still single. Then alas they met at an event and the rest is history. Aside from living in Austin and attending the same church they also have being from Louisiana in common with one another. Matt is an engineering professor at UT while Julie works as a physical therapist in town.
Some of the first things I noticed about Julie and Matt is how organized, down-to-earth, and generous they are. The pair of them is SO easy to talk to and float from one topic of conversation to the next. I’m so grateful they chose me to document their wedding day memories, I love my couples oh so much!!
Julie and Matt said “I do” on Memorial Day weekend and it was hot and steamy outside. I really feel like it was the introduction to summer that day. Thankfully the only happenings outdoors that day were the photos. Their ceremony was held at the lovely St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the reception at the historic Austin Club just steps from Congress Avenue, we even made a pit stop at their bridal suite at the Driskill Hotel to take additional photos. It was all classic Texas and then some and I’m obsessed with how the photos came out.
Dear Matt and Julie, I am so beyond thrilled for the both of you I’m honored I was able to capture your love story through my lens. Best of luck in the future!!
