Lauren + Dave

These two had me at the get go! Lauren and I were childhood friends, I have so many memories from elementary, middle and high school that involve her always smiling face. We played on the same soccer teams and were even in the same carpool for years. I used to tell her the same annoying inside joke over and over again…it wasn’t her that got sick of it, it was my mom who would plead with me from the front seat to stop telling it. Soooo when Lauren emailed me months and months and months before her and Dave’s wedding date I was over the moon excited.

It’s become a thing where I photograph my childhood friends’ weddings. I believe this is at least the third or fourth one…I have another coming up in November. I freakin’ love it.

From the moment I met with Lauren and Dave for their consultation I wanted them to pick me so badly to capture their wedding day memories. Dave was warm, kind, and detail oriented while Lauren supplied endless smiles and reminded me of why I was friends with her way back when.

I had so much fun shooting their engagement photos back in the fall that I knew their wedding would be no different. They said “I do” amongst their closest friends and family members beneath the majestic oak trees of Camp Lucy’s Sacred Oaks venue. It was something out of a fairy tale with tendrel twinkle lights and a bountiful floral archway where they exchanged vows. Every detail was thought of and you could tell. I was truly touched when throughout the day I would find Lauren shedding tears of joy and Dave would gaze at her with such adoration. It made my heart skip a beat and reminded me again why I love what I do. I was so happy to document their love story and I can’t wait for what the future holds for these two brilliant people.
