I have a handful of favorite engagement sessions from 2015…this one here though, it may be in my top two. It was soooooo special. So special.
I met up with Ryan and Rita on a warm winter’s day in early December. They had requested to have their engagement session at the renowned McKinney Falls State Park right outside of Austin. I had seen sooo many pictures of this majestic park full of water falls and fields of rock. I’d just never been, let alone photograph an adorable couple in lovey dovey land.
Everything came together perfectly, Ryan and Rita were the perfect subjects to photograph that day, the landscape was beyond gorgeous, and well, the light…it cast a spell on us all with its beauty. Come see!
Pretty great so far right? And then stuff started to go bananas amazing…
Rita is a such a kind soul, I could tell this from the first few moments of my interactions with her. She’s a great listener with a genuine heart and pure intentions. Is that weird of me to say? Are you blushing Rita?!? I don’t mean to seem like a creeper but I LOVE photographing her. She’s not hyper camera aware, she just acts natural and allows me to step back and do some amazing work. If you follow my work you know I tout about capturing and honoring those “in-between moments.” Those moments where my subjects are working between poses and being real and letting their guard down. Rita did this all day long (Ryan, you were a pro too, don’t get me wrong). I adored not having to direct as much as normal and silently click away behind my camera as these two’s love story played out before me.
I’m beyond excited to photograph these two naturals on their wedding day. From the details they’ve described to me already, it’s bound to be quite the event.
