This past February Alex taught a Photography class through the continuing education program at Westwood High School. I was super proud, and it was very cool for me since I graduated from Westwood. Alex had 15 students sign up in all and held a class every Thursday evening for a month.
During each class he discussed the fundamentals of photography including light, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and more.
I always tell Alex that he’s such a great teacher. Whether he knows it or not, he’s fantastic at breaking difficult concepts down and describing them in a way that is so tangible. I met Alex in a graphic design course in college, and instead of students asking our professor questions they would ask Alex instead. I remember not being able to get over how helpful and patient he was.
I’m sure his latest batch of students shared some of my same thoughts.
The jury is still out on whether or not he’ll teach a class this coming summer, but the odds are looking good!
A huge thanks to Westwood High School and all of Alex’s students this past month. We kids at LewChan really appreciate the support!
Happy Photographing!
