There aren’t enough words, hand gestures or hearts in the world to describe how lucky I feel that Kim and Jonathan found ME and chose ME to photograph their amazing summer camp wedding! They are truly two of the kindest and most giving clients I’ve ever had ever. I remember the first time I spoke with them on a phone call, we were visiting Alex’s family in Ohio, it had just snowed and I was having a lovely conversation with Kim and Jonathan in a rocking chair, sitting by a frosty window that overlooked where Olive and Penny were playing in the snow. Everything has always been warm and fuzzy with these two, from the get go.
Kim and Jonathan couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate their love for each other than renting out cabins at The Retreat at Balcones Springs for an entire weekend and enjoy activities like kayaking, zip lining, hiking and swimming to name a few. They even saved a cabin for my family to stay there the first night and I was blown away by the huge gesture. Olive had a blast going canoeing for the first time and playing on “the blob” on the lake for hours on end with Kim and Jonathan’s nieces and nephews. They even invited us to their rehearsal dinner and had a unicorn cupcake just for Olive since it was her birthday weekend. I could cry from all the gestures and hospitality they showed us. They did this for everyone there, everyone felt so taken care of and loved on by these two amazing humans. I’m honestly getting choked up thinking about it.
The day of the wedding started out a wee bit rainy (Kim didn’t care) but turned into a warm, super breezy and sunny day. So much blue in the sky, so much love in the air. They had a beautiful Catholic service, the priest was even a fellow A&M Aggie 🙂 Back at The Retreat at Balcones Springs we were able to take gorgeous portraits in incredible light, enjoy beer burros and have an epic dance party with their favorite people. I would be remiss to not mention the incredible service and hospitality that the staff at The Retreat showed all the vendors and guests. Seriously y’all, I was blown away. Jennifer and her team had everything handled in spades.
Congratulations again to the happy, kind and beautiful couple! I’m so honored to have captured these memories for you and your families to enjoy for years to come!!
