I absolutely adore this couple! If they lived in Austin I’d probably force them to be friends with me, but alas, they reside in Conneticut. From the very beginning every ounce of communication with Jackie was easy, detailed, and delightful…little did I know I’d fall even harder for them as a couple once I met them in person. Jackie and Dave are laid back, kind, and hilarious. I always get the best feelings about two people being together when I see how they make one another laugh. There were genuine, belly laughs the entire damn day and you couldn’t help but beam with joy as you witnessed their love.
Jackie and Dave met when Jackie asked Dave where the restroom was in a bar, haha. Together they have traveled the world, naturally I had a lot to talk about with them. When they told me they were passionate about traveling I immediately picked their brains and asked them where they’ve been, both together and separately. They have traveled to South Africa for the Men’s World Cup in 2010 as well as the Women’s World Cup recently. I remarked that I loved how they supported both the men and women’s soccer teams and they were all, “uh yeah, of course we’d support both…equality.” And then I fell in love with them even more. XOXOXO
Dave will be teaching in Florence, Italy this upcoming summer which made my ears perk. Some of you may know, but Alex and I started dating when we studied abroad in Florence in 2004 and we later returned in 2008 to get married there. I LOVE ITALY, Florence especially and I couldn’t wait to hear about their past experiences there and tell them about some of my favorite places to eat and see there. Jackie and I have even been exchanging emails since their wedding about Italy and gelato and nutella and pasta…seriously, can we be friends yet?
Jackie and Dave said “I Do” amongst their closest friends and family…wait for it…on a BOAT 🙂 🙂 It was my very first wedding on a boat and I’m going to request I book at least one boat wedding a year from here on out. The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful with a crisp breeze and sunshine for days. It was heaven watching them become husband and wife while we slowly cruised along Lake Austin. One of my favorite moments of their ceremony was when Jackie told Dave “I love you because you chew mostly with your mouth shut and you’re wildly handsome.” And to make the evening even more enjoyable there were tacos, endless queso, and a bounty of assorted cookies. Jackpot.
Dearest Jackie and Dave…never change, you’re both already too awesome for words. I wish you only the best this big, wide world has to offer. Have the best time in Italia this summer and on your future travels. Baci baci!!
