Megan and Juston’s beautiful June wedding day in Spring Branch, Texas was the last wedding of my spring and summer crazy season and it was a breath of fresh air, despite the boiling temperatures outside. As soon as I met Megan she greeted me with a huge smile and a hug while getting her hair and makeup done, she approached her entire day with ease, grace, and a wonderfully positive attitude. Juston was just as sweet and welcoming, offering us drinks and food the entire time they were getting ready. I love when a couple proudly introduces you to their friends and loved ones and you’re automatically a part of the family. That’s how these two sweeties make people feel, it was such a treat to photograph and celebrate their union.
Megan and Juston met while in college, during her vows to Juston, Megan referred to the butterflies she’d get in her stomach when she’d spot Juston walking towards her on the way to class. Speaking of vows, Juston wrote two pages of vows to Megan completely in rhyme. They were adorable and heartfelt. I asked him about them afterwards when I was taking their photos and he said he proposed in rhyme so it only made sense that his vows did the same. Needless to say, everyone was delighted and way impressed.
Their reception was chalk full of emotional speeches from their family members as well as a wild dance party (our favorite kind) to cap off the evening. Something I’ll take away from their sparkler exit at the end of the night was how much heat was generated from the hundreds of people who held sparklers. It was by far the largest sparkler exit we’ve ever photographed…it was pretty epic.
Congratulations Megan and Juston, I hope you both had the honeymoon of your dreams in Hawaii. Best of luck to you both in all your future endeavors!!
