Raelynn + Tim

Uncategorized

Where do I even begin with this wedding? I was so thrilled when Raelynn reached out to me about her and Tim’s late May wedding. Raelynn’s parents are the owners of the renowned and ever so amazing Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls, Texas. If you’re a parent in central Texas it’s likely you know of this place, it’s perfect for kiddos. In the fall it’s the best pumpkin patch (end of), in the spring you can go pick strawberries and dig for onions and potatoes. There’s also a corn maze in the shape of Texas, goats, a huge flower picking field, a secret tunnel you can walk through, tractor rides and so much more . So basically when Raelynn told me she wanted me to photograph her wedding on the family farm I was all YES YES YES!!!

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to put into words how everyone close to the bride and the groom helped make this wedding so special. It was a family affair and the sheer amount of DIY almost broke my brain. Not only was it DIY but it was GOOOOOOD DIY. Every last detail was thought of from every piece of curated furniture to the fresh blooms hung on an antique door frame to the canoe filled with cold beverages to the homade jam Raelynn made herself for guests to take home with them. I just can’t say enough about how artsy and craftsy this bunch is. And OMG the cakes, wait ’til you see how gorgeous all three of them were…I was so obsessed with the pink one. Come look at all the goodness!

I was so in love with that Blue Heeler farm dog. She was old and sweet and waddling around the porch. It took awhile for her to get to the dress, but I wanted that shot so I waited ever so patiently 🙂

I will never forget this next moment coming right up. Raelynn’s dad (owner of the farm), Daniel, drove Raelynn and her bridesmaids (who helped her stay standing since sitting was an issue) to the bride and groom’s first look. As I was riding beside Raelynn and documenting all the amazingness that was this moment I thought to myself that this was something I’d never do or see again. So cool.

Their first look was so sweet. I loved Tim’s reaction to seeing Raelynn for the first time. He was so genuinely excited and reassuring that she was the most gorgeous person he’d ever laid eyes on. I loved him too after this moment.

That super awesome, black and white portrait on the right was requested by Raelynn. I love how classic it is with Tim in his Coast Guard attire.

So not only was the reception site to die for…the ceremony site was straight out of a fairy tale book. Raelynn and Tim exchanged vows beneath the most beautiful oak tree that had the grooviest branches. The aisle was lined with hundreds of candles and white rose pedals and there were votives and gold touches everywhere you looked. Truly magical!

This next picture is great, I love seeing all guests in one big group photo. I only wish there was a picture of me taking this picture. It was insanity and I crack up every time I think back to it. Ya see right after Raelynn and Tim said “I Do” and kissed all the guests sang a beautiful hymn and rang bells as the new Mr. and Mrs. walked down the aisle. And there I was, backing up and taking a zillion photos and then booking it to a ladder about 25 yards down the path leading to the reception site. I then climbed the ladder while Raelynn’s brother-in-law held it steady for me. From there I snapped a dozen versions of the below photo while heat lightning stretched across the sky above me. It was a trip. But we got it!!!
